Benefits

ABOUT THE RACERegistration tables will be open from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the Lawrence Township Fire Company #1, Mill Road.  Riders must report to the registration tables to receive numbers, timing chips, and starting time.  All riders must be registered.  A registration form can be printed out - see the tool bar above.

RACE DESCRIPTIONVolunteers will be placed strategically along the route to assist riders.  Lawrence Township Fire Company #1 and Clearfield EMS Ambulance personnel will be available to assist riders in case of emergency.  Receive your t-shirt by turning in your chip.

SAFETY:  Helmets must be worn by all riders.  There will be no exceptions!  If you meet a rider who is injured, you should determine the extent of the injury and decide if emergency medical attention is needed.  If the injury requires immediate attention, stay with the injured rider.  Send word to the nearest tour official or checkpoint with the next approaching rider.

*ANSI OR SNELL helmets are required for all riders.

One goal for this race is to raise money for Habitat of Humanity of Clearfield County.  Last year we raised over $8,000 which went directly for the purchase of building materials.  It takes about $45,000 for us to build a home and hopefully the King of the Mountain Race will build a house one day.  Our goal this year is to surpass $10,000.  Thank you to all of our sponsors.

Another goal is to promote Clearfield County as a great place for cycling.  The event is scheduled for the peak display of autumn foliage.  There are miles of great roads that have little automotive traffic for road biking.  And there are miles of dirt roads, a fine rails to trails from Clearfield to Grampian, and state forest single tracks.

Finally, we want to have an exciting race that rewards many types of riders.  Check out our much improved prizes.  We especially hope to attract more women to the event this year.

If you're looking for a room please call the Holiday Inn Express and ask for a special reduced rate at 814-768-7500.
